Neil Young - Dead Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) 

Recently I’ve really been enjoying listening to solo guitar records. I’ve also been enjoying putting myself into an American Indie-induced coma by binge watching Jim Jarmusch movies, so imagine my delight to discover the entire soundtrack of Dead Man was done live on the guitar by a certain Neil Young.

The footage above offers a glimpse of a 25 minute program documenting the recording process, with the final soundtrack being a composite of two long takes he recorded to picture in a San Franciscan soundstage. The stand alone record is a pretty hallucinatory listen, more so when paired with the films themes of manifest destiny, displacement, and spirituality, then doubly so when the square outside your house looks like the quarantine zone of a Bruce Willis movie.
